Educate Her, Don't Sell to Her

Your client doesn't need another sales pitch.

She needs to understand why you're recommending something.

With more skincare information available than ever, clients are walking into your treatment room with products, advice, and opinions they've picked up from TikTok, Instagram, friends, and Google.

Your value isn't simply knowing which product to recommend.

It's knowing what actually makes sense for her skin—and being able to explain why.

Explain the Why

Instead of:

"You should use this serum."

Try:

"I'm recommending this because we're working on your pigmentation, and this is the part of your routine I think we're missing."

That small explanation changes the conversation.

She's not just hearing what to buy.

She's understanding why it belongs in her routine.

Sometimes Less Is More

Education also means being willing to tell your client when she doesn't need more.

Maybe she's using too many actives.

Maybe her skin needs a simpler routine.

Maybe the product she saw trending online isn't the right fit for her.

Those moments build trust.

When your client knows you're not trying to sell her something every time she sits down, your recommendations carry more weight when you do make one.

Give Her a Reason to Believe in the Plan

When a client understands what she's using, why she's using it, and what she can realistically expect, she's more likely to stay consistent.

And consistency is where the real value of homecare shows up.

The goal isn't to convince her to buy the product.

It's to help her understand why the product makes sense for her.

That's education.

And that's what turns a retail recommendation into a professional recommendation.

Pause after each patient. Find your pattern. Grow your retail.
